After a poor performance, Ronaldo Koeman was shown the exit door at the Camp Nou event that led to the Catalan club appointing an interim manager before they settled to Spanish former midfielder maestro Xavi Hernandez.
They say when you leave a place the hosts more so must have a sit down to discuss you and that’s what actually is going on in Barcelona.
Indeed it was a tough start to the season after losing one of their best players to have ever graced the game – Lionel Messi to PSG.
One of the craziest transfers that brought the sporting world to a standstill at the last minute. Messi was on vacation when he was told at the last minute that the club was not going to renew with him a situation that Messi himself admitted turned his world upside down.
Barcelona failed to register Messi due to financial problems that continually haunt the club to date.
Talking about the latest incidents of Koeman leaving Barcelona, Barca defender Oscar Mingueza has revealed that the club had to sack Ronald Koeman because the players lacked self-belief and were not happy under his management.

The Dutch manager was initially hired by the club last year to replace Quique Setien and was tasked with overseeing the team during one of the most tumultuous periods of the club’s modern history.
During Koeman’s time at the club, a new president was elected to replace the one that had hired him and Lionel Messi departed for Paris Saint-Germain after league rules banned Barca from offering him a new contract.
As such, it was only a matter of time before Koeman was asked to fall on his sword, which eventually came in late October following a 1-0 defeat to Rayo Vallecano.
In his place, Barca has now hired former midfielder star Xavi to replace the senior tactician and Minguez was quick to point out why the change needed to be made.
Speaking to Esport3 in an interview, Mingueza says there was no good atmosphere in the dressing room and all signs were Koeman to leave.
“And when you’re not well and things don’t turn out, you need a change,” said the Barca player in an interview with Esport3.
The Barcelona star says that it reached a time where the team stopped having faith in Ronald Koeman and this time every player was building on his own. as they did not believe in Ronald Koeman’s ways amidst poor performance day in day out.
He added: “I’m sure things will change and get better now. And I don’t think we’ll have to wait two or three months to see those changes. Starting this weekend, we’ll see new things.
“Xavi’s training is very focused on the idea of what we want to do on the pitch. It is good that we have a clear idea and that we all work in a specific way to obtain a good result as a team.”
