Arsenal eye Everton’s ace Calvert Lewin – reports

For having spent a considerable amount of money in the summer transfer window Arsenal have not resuscitated their hopes for a title challenging squad. This season the Gunners started off badly with a lose to Brentford a newly promoted side but picked up their pieces along the way and now the Kroenke owned club has set their eyes to snatch Everton’s talisman Calvert Lewin according to reports from England.

As reported by Football.London while interest from the Gunners end is already known when it comes to Calvert-Lewin, Edu and Mikel Arteta view the England striker as their top most priority for the summer.

Arsenal will be looking to sign the England’s star for long term contract to replace aging Aubameyang and off the plans Lacazette who has not had a good playing time at Arsenal so far this season and he is believed to be negotiating his way out of Emirates. Aubameyang, meanwhile, is now into his 30s.

Football.London, then, claims $68m-rated Calvert-Lewin is now the number one target for Arsenal.

The former Sheffield United striker has enjoyed a fine rise in recent seasons at Everton, and scored 16 Premier League goals last season. He has already hit three goals in three games this term too.

Arsenal spent big money in the summer just gone on young, up and coming talent from England. The likes of Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale arrived, while Lokonga and Tavares came in from abroad.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta though is unlikely to make a move earlier in the January transfer window though having ruled out the possibility of Lacazette leaving as early as the new year, which would be the last opportunity the club could gain a transfer fee for the Frenchman.

Is Calvert Lewin fit transfer for Arsenal

When you talk about ready-made Premier League number nines, you can’t really look past the Everton man. He has everything needed to be a top forward and is already one, in fairness.

You also have to remember this is a forward who’s been compared to the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo as well. Anyone getting those sorts of comments, is worth attention.

A new striker is big for Arsenal in the summer. In Calvert-Lewin, they’d get presence, pace, and a knowhow in front of goal. And even if it does cost $68m, it could prove money well spent.
