Young Ghanaian Girl’s Handwritten Letter To Messi Warms Hearts

A young Ghanaian girl is the talk of the internet following a heart-rending message to Lionel Messi who recently joined French Ligue 1 Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

The young sweet soul identified as Nhyira Asiedu told Messi in a handwritten letter how sad her father is over his exit from Barcelona.

So sad was her narration that her father says he will no longer pay for DSTV – he only paid it to watch Messi play for Barcelona.

“Dear Lionel Messi, my daddy has been sad for some days now. I asked him and he said you have left FC Barcelona.”

She adds: “I see him pay DSTV to watch you play. He is saying he want (sic) pay again because you have left. I can’t watch cartoon again because he want pay (sic).”

Asiedu seeks answers from the Argentinian football star on why he chose to leave Barcelona.

Messi played for Barcelona for 21 years – since 2003 when he joined the club as a teenager.

Now 34 years old, Ayiedu swims with millions of other fans across the world who can’t wrap their minds around the fact that Messi is no longer with Barcelona.

“Please don’t go so that I can watch my cartoons. I want my cartoons back Mr Lionel Messi,” she concludes in her letter.

Messi Moves To PSG

In other news, Sports Leo earlier reported Messi’s move to France started off things on the right note for his new club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

When he touched down in Paris on Tuesday, August 10, PSG provided Messi’s shirt emblazoned with his name and number “30”.

They sold all the 150,000 pieces in just 20 minutes each going for €107.99 thereby generating €16,198,500 in total sales.

This goes down to history as one of the biggest sales of all time the French League stars.

Number “30” emblazoned in Messi’s shirt carries a lot of significance. He wore this shirt at Barcelona, his former club that he played for religiously for 21 years.

Ligue 1 allowed PSG exclusive rights to have the number on the Argentinian striker’s shirt since it is a reserve for goalkeepers only.

The massive jersey sale came with a multitude of PSG fans thronging the streets to welcome the new kid on the block.

Messi will be with PSG for two years going by the terms of his contract. Surprisingly, PSG is not only celebrating great sales with the inclusion of Messi in its star lineup.

The giant Ligue 1 French club cast its net wider and signed Sergio Ramos, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Gianluigi Donnarumma on free transfers.

However, the Messi transfer deal remains a high-octane move that will go down the annals of football history.
