It has always been a tough battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen in the world of Motor Sports.

It seemed as if Red Bull together with Max Verstappen had lost track a little bit in the championship fight.

Red Bull, which was on par with Mercedes at the beginning of the season, took lead in Monaco. On a count of five wins in a row, Red Bull took lead before Mercedes halted their charge at Silverstone.

The recent battle that was highly-hyped and struck controversies was when Lewis Hamilton was the talk of the day as he celebrated a record of the eighth British win. That was achieved after fighting back from a 10-second penalty for a first-lap collision.

Unfortunately, events took turns and the collision stopped the race and Max Verstappen, who was the biggest Hamilton rival was sent to the hospital.

Lewis Hamilton was only eight points behind Verstappen after 10 races. That was when he passed Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc with two laps to go. The crowd, whose capacity was 140,000 rose to cheer on him.

The third position was held by Hamilton’s teammate dubbed Valtteri Bottas. That was after he was told to let Hamilton through to chase Leclerc, who has taken the lead from the re-start and was voted driver of the day.

This was undoubtedly a hotly contested race and that marked the 99th of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton’s Formula One career achievements.

Nevertheless, the race marked the worst possible result for Max Verstappen. Max started on pole position with a 33-point lead but unfortunately failed to complete a lap. That was because he suffered the biggest accident of his career after crashing out at Copse corner.

When Hamilton went down, Verstappen moved across and the two tangled wheels. The Red Bull’s rear right touched the front left of the Mercedes.

Therefore, since the crash between the two motorsports big wigs, Red Bull seems to have lost ground to Mercedes.

Reportedly, since the first lap saga at Hungary, they trailed the German team in both of the championships.

Max Verstappen has therefore made an urge to his team to make some changes so that he can be in a position to continue with his title fight with Lewis Hamilton.

Max, who is a Dutch driver has unfortunately lost the championship lead to Lewis after the Hungarian Grand Prix.

In two race weekends, he has been involved in two crashes, which were back-to-back. Verstappen as well believes that the Mercedes upgrades have played a part in closing the gap to the Austrian team.

On his part, Max expressed his views and said that there is the need for Red Bull to find some pace and get back, ahead of Mercedes after the summer break.

This is what he had to say;

“It’s now up to us to keep working to find the one or two-tenths of a second that Mercedes has taken back during the season,” Max reiterated. “We’ll have to see what else we can get out of the car. In Hungary, for example, Mercedes introduced a new floor. I’m sure we can make it an exciting battle. We always have a good chance to win and don’t have to give up all of a sudden.

According to reports by Planet 1, Toto Wolff the Mercedes team principal has given a statement that the team will not be doing any more upgrades to their car.

Additionally, Toto also mentioned that the team has taken a step forward since Silverstone.

“In terms of aerodynamic development, we stopped a long time ago,” said Wolff. ” The last development stopped in spring and the last upgrade that was then produced we brought to Silverstone, and that upgrade functions. We have made a step forward.”

As per the Motorsports standings, interestingly the Mercedes are leading the Red Bull by 4 points in the constructors’ fight.

On the other hand, Lewis Hamilton is ahead of Verstappen with 8 points in the drivers’ championship.

Hamilton’s eighth win however did not augur well with racists. Despite Hamilton being a high-profile voice in the fight against racism, this time he was in for it.

All eyes are now set to see how the battle between Lewis and Max will continue. The biggest question is, will the duo ever make their rapport strong or will it deteriorate with time?
