Little was known of Peres Jepchirchir until recently when she took the world by storm at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
Jepchirchir won a gold medal for Kenya in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics Women’s Marathon. And her victory was celebrated so much in her native home in Kenya.

Peres Jepchirchir Biography
Peres Jepchirchir is a Kenyan by birth. She was born in the Rift Valley – Turbo Constituency, Uasin Gishu County in 1993. She is 27 years old. Her debut athletics career saw her take interest in long-distance tracks. She soon became a great marathoner who represented her country in several international competitions.
Her big break came with the 2016 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships. Jepchirchir won a gold medal and continued her winning streak through to 2020. She won yet another gold medal in 2020s IAAF World Half Marathon Championships.
In 2017, she broke the Ras Al Khaimah International Half Marathon, in the UAE keeping a new impressive record of 1:05:06. In 2020, she set a new record in World Athletics Half Marathon Championships, Gdynia Poland
Amid her impressive track record, she is an athlete who has overcome insurmountable odds to be where she is in life. She was born in a family of 24 siblings and fate would rob her of a mother when she was only two years old.
Schooling wasn’t easy for her either. She toiled so much to make it through primary school. Jepchirchir joined high school but eventually dropped out since her relatives could not fund her education.
It is at this point that she took up running which was a passion she toyed with. She felt it deep within her that her life would change from what she did on the track. Local races became her thing and her close male friend supported her to the end. She won most of them. Now, she was fit for the next level of athletics.
Her first race abroad was in Uganda. She did not make it to the end though after passing out in what she said was due to high temperatures. Unbowed, Jepchirchir got a second chance in 2013 to travel to South Africa where she triumphed and her road to success just started.
Ever since Jepchirchir journey in athletics is all about winning and success. However, she understands the pain of poverty. She recalls a time when all she did was focus her energies on small-scale farming which gave her meager income.

Jepchirchir’s net worth is an estimated $1.5 million to $3 million. It is all from the proceeds of her career as a marathoner.
Peres Jepchirchir Endorsements
With her outstanding career in long-distance running, she has an endorsement by global sportswear company Addidas. She is an ambassador for the sports footwear which she rocked during the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games where she scooped a gold medal.
The endorsement is worth tens of thousands of dollars.

Details about her annual salary remain scanty but it is obvious that she makes a tidy amount every year. Her impressive record since 2014 when she clinched her first win has booked her annual cheque.
In the same vein, details of her assets, and ventures remain scanty. She has successfully kept it away from public scrutiny, just like many other successful athletes. One thing though, she may be running a foundation as a way to mentor more athletes from her home county.

It is mindboggling for an athlete of her stature to have little social media presence. She recently joined Twitter and has 174 followers hitherto. She is not active either. From this alone, it is a testament to how much she values privacy – it is heavenly for a celebrity.
She is not on Facebook either. You would expect that she is a prominent figure in social media but she just isn’t for reasons best known to her
