Liverpool to miss Trent Alexander-Arnold for a month

Liverpool to miss Trent Alexander-Arnold for a month - Sports Leo

Premier League champions Liverpool are set to miss their starting right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold for at least a month.

The England international sustained a calf injury in their 1-all draw against rivals Manchester City over the weekend.

Versatile player James Milner replaced the Merseyside Red’s homegrown talent in the second half during the match.

22-year-old Alexander-Arnold is expected to be out of action until December adding injury woes to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

He will miss three Premier League matches against in-form Leicester City who are top of the table, Brighton and Hove Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The West-Derby-born player will as well miss reverse Champions League fixtures against Atalanta and Ajax.

Trent adds pressure to Klopp’s injury list especially of first-team players ahead of crucial games both in the domestic league and European competition.

Having already lost Virgil van Dijk for almost the rest of the season, the defence looks pretty shaken. Brazilian Fabinho was filling that gap before also sustaining an injury.

Klopp has been forced to use academy players in the centre-half position, who have held up well but could only be for so long.

Adding to the starting line-up injury list include Naby Keita and Thiago Alcantara who have not yet returned to action.
