Former Golden Arrows captain Nkanyiso Mngwengwe dies - Sports Leo

Former Golden Arrows captain Nkanyiso Mngwengwe died on Monday, the club announced.

The 30-year-old defender had been at Arrows since 2013, making more than 140 appearances for the team. His cause of death was not revealed by the club.

Golden Arrows paid tribute to Mngwengwe.

Arrows chairperson Mato Madlala said: “I am saddened by the passing off Nkanyiso. I remember when he first arrived at the Arrows as a promising footballer, full of energy. He was always ready to fight for the team and acquitted himself very well over the years.

“I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Nkanyiso’s family. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult moment.”

The club added in its statement: “Rest in Peace Sgora. Your hard work and contribution to Arrows and the football fraternity will never be forgotten.”
