JVW looking to pull away at the top of Gauteng Sasol League

JVW FC look to pull away at top of Sasol League - Sports Leo

JVW FC have an opportunity to open a gap at the top of the Gauteng Sasol League table when they host Springs Home Sweepers FC on Wednesday.

After surging to the top of the standings with a 7-0 drubbing of NWU Vaal FC over the weekend, JVW have accumulated 57 points from 20 games. Tuks and Croesus also have 57 points, but both have played three games more than JVW.

JVW made headlines recently following the signing of record-breaking athlete Caster Semenya. The acquisition of one of the world’s best athletes highlights the club’s intentions of winning the Gauteng title and competing in the Safa National Women’s League.

Croesus could only draw 1-1 against Rosina Sedibane Sports School over the weekend, while Tuks scored an easy 8-1 victory over VUT FC to keep their title hopes alive.

However, things seem to continue to pull apart for Pull Together FC as they remain rooted at the bottom of the log.

Pull Together have found it difficult to adjust to the competitiveness of the Sasol League with just two victories from 23 outings.
