Much-travelled Nigerian striker Emmanuel Emenike has joined his 10th professional club after signing for Belgian second division club KVC Westerlo.

A quick look at his CV shows that in nine years he has played for clubs in South Africa, Turkey, Russia, United Arab Emirates, England, Spain and Greece.

Though his best days are probably behind him, the 32-year-old has had some good moments and was the top-scorer at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations as Nigeria lifted the trophy.

More recently Emenike was at Greek club Olympiakos from July 2018 but now has his sights on doing well at his new club in Belgium.

Besides his exploits in Afcon 2013, he played in all of Nigeria’s matches at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil but called it a day in international football in 2015.

Emenike first hit the headlines at Turkish club Karabukspor where he scored 30 goals in 52 appearances before joining glamour club Fenerbahce in 2011.

A match-fixing scandal, for which he was exonerated, saw him move to  Spartak Moscow where he scored 24 goals in 51 appearances before re-joining Fenerbahce in 2013 and helped them to the League and Cup double in 2014.

Now five years later the wandering football star might have finally found a more permanent home in Belgium.
